Raymond "Jerry" Hurm

Raymond “Jerry” Hurm, age 86, of Evansville, IN, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

Jerry was born June 4, 1937, in Owensboro, KY, to Linus J. and Mary Belle (Ralph) Hurm. He attended Reitz Memorial High School and was a Veteran in the United States Army, serving at Fort Lee, VA. Jerry worked as Service Manager for Toledo Scale Company for 18 years, was the owner and operator of TriState Scale Company from 1976-1993, and retired from Premier Scale after a few years. Jerry was a very kind man who loved his family. He enjoyed watching IU and KY basketball, watching NASCAR, doing genealogy work, and spending time with his pets.

Jerry is survived by his daughter, Brenda Sue Hurm; son, Michael Wayne Hurm; sisters, Imelda Becker, Barbara Sue Pearson, and Doris Hurm; brothers, Francis “Bernie” Hurm and Donald Hurm; and nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Linus and Elizabeth (Martine) Hurm; mother, Mary Belle Hurm; loving wife of 48 years, Nettie K. “Kitty” (Key) Hurm, who passed away in 2005; infant son, Jerry Ray Hurm, who passed away in 1957; sister, Geraldine Hurm; and brothers, George Hurm and Linus Hurm, who passed away in 1993.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville, IN. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 12:00 p.m. until service time, Monday, February 26, 2024, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel.
