Roland Jones, 96, of Frankfort, Kentucky formerly of Evansville passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Golden Living Center, Frankfort, Kentucky.
Roland was born March 9, 1916 in Pope County, Illinois the son of George and Clara (Ethridge) Jones. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Roland was a 62 year member of Washington Avenue Church of Christ. He retired from Whirlpool in 1981 after 44 years of service as a machinist.
He is survived by son, Stanley Jones of Frankfort, KY, sister, Louise Tucker of Evansville, brother, George E. Jones of Columbus, OH, grandchildren, Tim Jones and Elizabeth Brown and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Margaret (Burnett) Jones in 1997, a daughter, Marietta L. Jones in 2007 and a sister, Hilda Austin in 2001.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Washington Avenue Church of Christ, 4001 Washington Avenue with Reverend Stephen Rogers officiating. Private Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, IN.
Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville will be handling the arrangements.
